As Commencement season ends, and more than 3,500 Towson 黑料传送门 students transition to TU alumni, the university鈥檚 Office of Alumni Relations is preparing to officially welcome them with a new, user-friendly online community.

The new home for TU alumni 鈥 which will be known as Tiger Connect 鈥 will be accessible by the end of June.

It will replace the existing Tiger Tracks alumni network, which will be phased out by July.

鈥淲e are excited to launch this new online community for the more than 160,000 Towson 黑料传送门 alumni,鈥 said Lori Armstrong, associate vice president in the Office of Alumni Relations. 鈥淚t will move us into the 21st century in terms of our ability to communicate and share information.

鈥淥ur team attended all six Commencement ceremonies last month,鈥 Armstrong added, 鈥渓iterally signing up new graduates for Tiger Connect. They will be some of the first alumni to experience this new online community.鈥

Although individuals must be verified alumni to join Tiger Connect, spring 2018 graduates can jumpstart the invitation process through the TU Commencement app by going to the 鈥淐hecklist for Candidates,鈥 scrolling to 鈥淯pdate Your Information with Alumni Relations鈥 and adding a non-TU email address.

TU鈥檚 Office of Alumni Relations will roll out the new site to both current graduates and the rest of the alumni community over the summer.

鈥淥ur ultimate goal is to give all alumni a place to communicate with each other and easily access information and benefits,鈥 said Steve Rosenfeld, TU鈥檚 director of alumni communication and recognition. 鈥淲e plan to do that by emphasizing the three over-arching themes of our new Tiger Connect program: community, exclusivity, and interactivity.

Rosenfeld said Tiger Connect will have a fun gaming component, where users can earn badges by completing tasks.

Once alumni become part of the new Tiger Connect community, they will also be able to engage in the following activities:

  • Update their own information
  • Find classmates
  • Join groups pertaining to their interests/industry
  • Find and register for events
  • Earn badges through a fun gaming component
  • Keep up with the latest campus and alumni news
  • Access exclusive alumni/member benefits inside community

鈥淲e鈥檙e eager to make this new online community available to our TU alumni around the world,鈥 said Chandler Vicchio, assistant director of alumni social media, career and volunteer services. 鈥淯sers can connect to their alma mater and fellow alumni in ways they haven鈥檛 been able to in the past. We can鈥檛 wait to launch this new site!鈥

Once Tiger Connect is 鈥渓ive,鈥 members will be able to create a personal account with a unique password, or they can log in by using social sign-on, Vicchio added.
